Technology has come a long way since the days of dinosaurs and The Flintstones. However, today’s technology isn’t as advanced as The Jetsons yet. But, it probably will be very shortly. Manual typewriters have been replaced with electronic typewriters. Better still electronic typewriters have been replaced by both desktop computers and laptop computers and now there are both home phones and cell phones. Also, today many people can’t live without electronic mails. Moreover, ten years ago media players didn’t exist. Media players work well with many different computers and digital cameras. There are many brands of media players that consumers can and do purchase. There are Creative and iRiver media players and there are Sony and Samsung media players. Samsung portable media players are state of the art.

The sleek and silver Samsung media player stands out from the rest of media players for two reasons. First, the basic design is different from that of most portable video players such as the Creative Zen. The Creative Zen uses a horizontal, Game Boy like design with the screen at the center and both the navigation and the selection button are on the side. The Samsung media player, by contrast, look like a miniature television set with the screen on the top and both the controls and the speaker below it. Second, this media player is much smaller and lighter than the other two portable media players. In addition, the start menu has five basic options from My Television and My Music to My Pictures and My Videos. Plus, there is a My Settings option. Relax because once you drill down into a main menu option, you will be to instantly categorize without much problem. In short, you will have to a Samsung media player in order to understand how it works, but, once you play with it for a bit you will see that you can play music and add song to a play list quickly and easily.

Moreover, you can sort videos by using the categories of New, Name, or Date, and all videos include an automatic resume feature. You also can have ten movies bookmarked so that you can watch them from where you left off. The same goes for the My Television feature of Samsung portable media players; you could have five recorded shows and both watch and bookmark them independently. Plus, with the My Photos feature, you can set parameters for slide show presentations and even listen to music while you’re viewing photos.

Samsung portable media players get a good review from CNET editor’s with a 3.5 rating. The only drawback with a Samsung portable media player is that it doesn’t have a great battery. In fact the battery in this media player has been called sub par. Otherwise, Samsung portable media players are state of the art.
